CFP® PartnerSteve received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in Finance and Accounting from The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business in 1993. He formed his financial planning practice later that year with the Columbus office of Lincoln Financial Advisors after a two-year internship with the firm. Steve earned his Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation in 1997 – an extensive training and educational program that includes just 20% of all financial advisors. In 2005, he formed Kovalcik & Geraghty Wealth Partners LLP (KGWP) and is currently Co-Managing Partner. KGWP completed its transition to a Fee-Only planning practice in 2012 further reinforcing their role as fiduciaries for their clients. Steve is a member of the National Association of Professional Financial Planners (NAPFA), the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and a member of the Columbus Council on World Affairs.
Steve is an Executive Board Member for the Upper Arlington Junior Baseball Association with past board experience including Junior Achievement of Central Ohio, Upper Arlington Little League Baseball and Citizens for Humane Action (CHA) Animal Shelter. As a part of his involvement with Junior Achievement, Steve taught basic economics courses to elementary and middle school students throughout Central Ohio.
Steve lives in Upper Arlington with his wife, Sally, and their four children, Carly, Grant, Clare and Ryan. In addition to spending time with family, Steve is an avid sports fan and enjoys travel, playing tennis and golf, and coaching youth sports teams.
