Matthew G. Kovalcik,
CFP® PartnerMatt graduated from Franklin University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Marketing in 1993. Matt earned the marks of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) in 1997. Matt is currently a second-level candidate for the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation.
In 1998 Matt formed M.G. Kovalcik, LLC and provided financial planning and investment advisory services to clients employing a fee-based approach. In 2005, he merged his practice with Steve to form Kovalcik & Geraghty Wealth Partners LLP (KGWP) and is currently Co-Managing Partner. KGWP completed its transition to a Fee-Only planning practice in 2012 further reinforcing their role as fiduciaries for their clients.
From 2013-2019 Matt served on the Board of Directors of the Bluffton Boys and Girls Club. He currently serves as the treasurer of Friends of Worship on the Water which is a non-profit outreach ministry in Bluffton, SC.
Matt and his wife, Kris, have three children; Jimmy, Ellie and Mary. Their eldest daughter, Ellie, suffers from Mitochondrial Disease. The family lives according to the mantra “today will be what I make it.” Kris and Matt are passionate about making certain Ellie enjoys quality of life which was the catalyst for the family’s move from Columbus, Ohio to Bluffton, South Carolina in 2011.
Matt loves all things outdoors; in particular, he enjoys boating with his family, cycling, shooting and hunting.
